Denada integrates with Mailchimp so you can design emails in Denada and push them directly to Mailchimp as templates.

What you need

  • A Denada project with an email ready to push
  • A Mailchimp account where you can create an API key

Create a Mailchimp API key

  1. Log in to your Mailchimp account.
  2. Click your profile icon, then Profile, then open the Extras menu and choose API keys.
  3. Click Create A Key and give it a name like “Denada integration”.
  4. Copy the key. It ends with a data center, like -us19. Mailchimp only shows it once.

Connect Denada to Mailchimp

1

Open the Integrations dialog

Click Share on any project, then under Integrations, click Configure. (You can also open your team’s Settings page and click Add integration in the Integrations panel — manager access required.)
2

Select Mailchimp

Choose Mailchimp from the list of platforms.
3

Enter your credentials

  • Name — optional, e.g. “Production”.
  • API key — the key you created above, including the data center suffix.
4

Validate and save

Click Validate to confirm the key works, then click Save.

Push an email to Mailchimp

  1. Open the project and click Share.
  2. Under Integrations, select Export to Mailchimp.
  3. Fill in the export dialog:
    • Template name — the name that will appear in Mailchimp. Defaults to your project’s name.
    • Upload images - Mailchimp hosts images — optional. When checked, Denada uploads your email’s JPEG, PNG and GIF images to the Mailchimp File Manager and rewrites the HTML to use those URLs. When unchecked, images stay hosted on Denada’s CDN.
  4. Click Export.
Denada renders the final HTML and creates a template in Mailchimp. You’ll find it under Campaigns → Email templates → Saved.

How updates work

  • Re-exporting updates in place. If you’ve pushed this project to Mailchimp before, the export dialog shows a Previous export option: choose Update existing to update the same Mailchimp template, or Create new to make a separate one. If the previous one was deleted in Mailchimp, Denada creates a new one automatically.
  • Previously uploaded images are reused. When re-exporting with image upload enabled, Previously uploaded images lets you reuse the existing File Manager copies or upload fresh ones.
Denada pushes your email as finished HTML. Mailchimp treats it as a code-your-own template, so use it as-is in a campaign rather than editing its content in the Mailchimp drag-and-drop editor. Mailchimp also doesn’t prevent duplicate template names, so use Previous export to control whether you update or duplicate.

Troubleshooting

Make sure you copied the whole key, including the data center suffix (like -us19), and that it hasn’t been disabled in Mailchimp.
The File Manager accepts JPEG, PNG and GIF. Other formats, such as SVG and WebP, keep their original Denada URLs.
